Network Rail seeks charity to deliver suicide prevention and mental health event

Network Rail, on behalf of the rail industry is seeking expressions of interest from mental health charities with a national reach, who are members of the National Suicide Prevention Alliance to deliver a one off experiential event at a London mainline station week commencing 7 October 2019.

The event should seek to showcase your charity to rail passengers and promote the message, that approaching someone in emotional crisis on the railway (and in the wider community) has the potential to support them.

It is expected that the charity involved in this initiative will design and deliver all aspects of the event upon agreement with Network Rail. A date/the timing of the event will be agreed as it develops but volunteers from the charity will be required to support its staging and presentation to passengers throughout.

On the same day as the event Network Rail intends to hold a Parliamentary reception to highlight the issues around mental health and suicide on the rail network to which it’s partner of the day will also be invited.

Network Rail will meet all reasonable costs associated with the event and subsequent Parliamentary reception.

If you would like to explore this opportunity further please express your interest by sending a short email to Rebecca Rogers at rebecca.rogers@networkrail.co.uk by noon on 5 July 2019. It should also include the contact details of an individual in your organisation with whom the concept can be discussed.
