Our core purpose is to support those who have lost loved ones to suicide. We want to build a community to support anyone who has been bereaved by suicide. Our website and social channels will be a source of information; curating existing content whilst signposting to useful resources and highlighting lived experience. The power of conversation is central to our concept so we will use a variety of initiatives to spark conversations and encourage open dialogues around bereavement from suicide and mental health. Opening the conversation to reshape the stigma. Eventually, as the charity grows in profile & funding we want to offer talking therapy sessions through grants to those who are bereaved from suicide.

How does your organisation contribute to preventing suicide and supporting those affected by it?
Through our website and social media channels we will focus on signposting to great charities, useful links and existing resources, curating relevant books, quotes, and other content, and sharing lived experiences, our own commentary, charity plans and successes
We strongly believe in the power of conversation and will use a variety of initiatives to spark conversations and encourage open dialogues around bereavement from suicide and mental health more generally. Finally, studies have shown the huge benefit of professional support to those bereaved by suicide and we intend to raise money in order to be able to provide counselling grants to those in need of this support.
What are your current priorities?
We're currently focused on building our audience and outreach program to raise awareness, as well as ramping up our fundraising efforts to in time be able to give out grants.
Due to the current climate we are also looking at assembling a counselling collective/ partnering with other counselling charities so that we can get our offering up and running faster.
What challenges are you currently facing?
Covid-19 is an obvious one for us, the sector was already under pressure and now the strain is even more. Also because we are on the bereavement side rather than the prevention side there is always a feeling that our fundraising efforts should be a bit under the radar and secondary - so we are trying to make sure that we think of innovative ways to fundraise.
