Simpol (International Simultaneous Policy Organisation)

International Simultaneous Policy Organisation (Simpol) is an international association of citizens who understand that today’s global problems can only be solved through global cooperation. Simpol supporters across the world encourage cooperation by using their right to vote in a completely new way to drive politicians, parties, and eventually governments towards solving the most pressing global issues of our time, such as climate change, fair corporate taxation, mass migration and so on. By joining the Simpol campaign, citizens commit to giving strong voting preference at all future national elections to political candidates who have pledged to implement Simpol, to the probable exclusion of those who haven’t. Politicians who sign the Pledge thus enhance their chances of getting our votes while politicians who don’t risk losing out to those who do. Over 100 UK MPs from all parties and an increasing number in other countries have already signed the Pledge. But beyond offering a practical solution to global problems, Simpol offers a new way of looking at and understanding the world. It’s a new way to think and be. A way that brings clarity to the chaos; that transcends, includes, and heals in the midst of conflict, division and polarisation.

How does your organisation contribute to preventing suicide and supporting those affected by it?

Neoliberalism and destructive competition between nations is one of the main drivers of the chaos we see in the world today. This chaotic culture is profoundly demoralising, especially for young people, and prevents them from making sense of the world. Simpol and its analysis help people to find meaning and purpose amongst the chaos, so promoting mental well-being while providing a means of practical action.
