Day one (11 Aug 2016): Symposium on interventions and therapeutic approaches for self-harm and suicidality.

What works? In this symposium world-leading experts will discuss state-of-the-art evidence for interventions for self-harm and suicidality. Professor David Jobes (Washington DC), Professor Siobhan O’Neil (Ulster), Professor Keith Hawton (Oxford), Professor Ellen Townsend (Nottingham) and Dr Eoin Galavan (Dublin).

The symposium is open to anyone with an interest in treatment/recovery/prevention in relation to self-harm and suicidality.

Day two (12 Aug 2016): Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS) workshop.

In this workshop you will learn about the key elements of the ground-breaking CAMS approach which has a strong evidence-base demonstrating reduced client suicidality and self-harm, and increased practitioner confidence in dealing with these issues.

By the end of this workshop you will have comprehensive understanding of the CAMS model, its empirical support, and how it is used clinically to effectively treat suicidal risk. It will be led by world-leading psychologist and suicidologist Professor David Jobes with Dr Eoin Galavan and Dr Zaffer Iqbal.

This workshop is suitable for licensed mental health professionals from all disciplines.
