Nightline Association

Nightline is a student listening service which is open at night and run by students for students. Every night of term, student volunteers answer calls, emails, instant messages, texts and talk in person to their fellow university students about anything that’s troubling them.

Each individual Nightline is run by students for students at their university

Most Nightlines also offer information and some have supplies such as condoms, pregnancy tests and attack alarms.

There are currently 36 Nightlines covering over 90 universities and colleges in the UK and Ireland.

PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide

PAPYRUS run a national helpline, HOPELineUK, including text and email services, staffed by a team of mental health professionals who provide practical help and advice to vulnerable young people and to those concerned about any young person who may be at risk of suicide.

Cruse Bereavement Care

Helpline

The Cruse National Helpline is staffed by trained bereavement support volunteers, who offer emotional support to anyone affected by a bereavement. Our volunteers are here to help you talk things through. They can also help you find your local Cruse service, or signpost you to support groups, financial advice, and other useful sources of information.

The Cruse Bereavement Care National Helpline is open for information, advice and emotional support, from 9.30am to 5pm Monday and Friday and 9.30am to 8pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The number is

Face-to-face support

Cruse offer face-to-face services via their Areas and Branches, and delivered by trained Bereavement Support Volunteers.

You can search for your nearest Cruse Area of Branch on their website. Each Cruse Area or Branch works within a specific catchment area and you will need to contact the Area to find out which geographical locations are covered by their services. Some Cruse services are able to visit clients in their homes or other local consulting rooms.
